Join our dedicated team as a Quality Control Underwriter and contribute to maintaining the highest standards of loan quality in the mortgage industry. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough reviews of mortgage loan files to ensure compliance with investor guidelines, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
- Utilize Automated Underwriting Systems (AUS) such as Desktop Underwriter (DU) and Loan Prospector (LP) to assess loan eligibility and risk.
- Perform pre-funding and post-closing audits to identify discrepancies, errors, and fraud indicators.
- Review appraisals, income documentation, credit reports, and other relevant documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Analyze loan data and documentation to determine creditworthiness and adherence to underwriting standards, including LTV (Loan-to-Value) ratios and DTI (Debt-to-Income) ratios.
- Prepare detailed quality control reports and findings, documenting issues and providing recommendations for corrective action.
- Communicate audit results and findings to underwriting teams, management, and stakeholders, ensuring compliance with industry best practices.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
- 3+ years of experience in mortgage underwriting, quality control, or related role.
- 3+ years of experience with LOS (Encompass preferred)
- Strong knowledge of mortgage industry regulations, including FHA, VA, USDA, Jumbo, NON-QM, and conventional loan guidelines.
- Proficiency in utilizing industry tools and software, such as Encompass and ACES (Automated Compliance and Evaluation System), to conduct quality control reviews.
